Technical Due Diligence
Areas We Cover:
Industrial Compliance & Risk Management
One-stop Solution
We support investors, lenders, developers, and asset owners in understanding the full technical risk profile of renewable energy and BESS projects through independent Technical Due Diligence (TDD). Together with our local partners, our reviews cover the project’s design basis, engineering maturity, balance of plant (BoP) configuration, construction readiness, grid compliance, and operational performance assumptions—helping stakeholders make informed investment, financing, and procurement decisions.
In renewable energy and BESS projects, many problems come from how different parts of the project connect. A Technical Due Diligence (TDD) review checks these interfaces early, explains what can go wrong and what it could cost or delay, and sets out practical actions to reduce the risk
Our approach is practical and transaction oriented. We focus on deliverability and performance: whether the chosen technology is fit-for-purpose, whether the design and documentation meet applicable standards and grid/operator requirements, whether contracts allocate risks appropriately, and whether schedules, CAPEX/OPEX, and yield assumptions are robust. The outcome is a clear set of findings and recommendations that support negotiations, conditions precedent, and project execution.
We provide swift responses and regular updates throughout every phase of the assignment and adjust the scope to project stage (development, pre-NTP, construction, or operational).
Areas we cover:
- Civil, geotechnical, and land use constraints
- Permitting and spatial planning status
- Review of environmental constraints and risks (habitats, protected species, seasonal work windows)
- Identification of permit condition requirements and mitigation measures
- Community and stakeholder driven constraints that can affect layout, routing and construction sequencing
- The alignment of contractor plans with local requirements
- Technology and supplier assessment (modules, inverters, trackers, wind turbines, BESS, transformers, switchgear etc.)
- CAPEX/OPEX review and benchmarking
- Supply chain risks
- Design review and compliance with applicable standards
- Grid code compliance assessment (reactive power capability, frequency response, fault ride-through etc.) and modelling
